10.9 Orphan Vehicles

* With the release of 10.9.0 we now have the ability to Orphan Vehicles onto a separate list and not just assign them to a contact by the name of Orphan or Orphan Vehicles. Any dealerships which have been using the Orphan Contact will have all the units that are attached moved to the new Orphan Vehicle List.

Orphaning A Vehicle

In order to add a unit to the Orphan Vehicle List, you will need to find the unit on either a dashboard, or a vehicle list generated from the find vehicle utility.

Once the unit is located, right click on it to and choose the "Mark as Orphan Vehicle" option from the list.

A second way which a unit can be orphaned is from the vehicle file itself. We have added the ability to use a Mark as Orphan button directly on the Ownership list. Simply open the Owner magnifying glass to access this option.

Once a unit has been orphaned, the owner will be removed and the vehicle added to the Orphan Vehicle list.

Orphan Vehicle List

Once a unit has been orphaned, it will be added to the list.

To access this list, you can click on the Orphan Vehicle menu button located within:

*System > Vehicles > Utilities > Orphaned Vehicles

This will open a Find Vehicle screen which contains all units which have been orphaned.

You can export/print the list of Orphan Vehicles via the right click options which are available in every list view. Removing a vehicle from the Orphan Vehicle list is done by manually adding an owner back to the unit via the ownership magnifying glass on the unit.
